Local Tourist Information Centres and Shops

Sheringham Tourist Information Centre

Station Approach, Station Road, Sheringham, Norfolk, Sheringham NR26 8RA, UK – 01263 824329

Really helpful staff couldn't fault their customer service

I believe I have mentioned this place before. This is a good place to find local attractions, it has a small shop which sales souvenirs. It is near the bus station and the old steam railway station. Worth calling in if you need some directions, and the like.

Sheringham Museum

Lifeboat Plain, Sheringham NR26 8BG, UK – 01263 824482

Great little museum, working very hard to cover everything that has made the town. Great team and expanding building :-)

Very interesting a lot of information about the local area over three floors plus the viewing tower good place to take a photo

National Trust - West Runton and Beeston Regis Heath

West Runton and Beeston Regis Heath, Roman Camp, West Runton NR27 9ND, UK – 01263 820550

Lovely place to walk. Don't know why Google Maps has the ££ symbol for this place. It is completely free. Even the car park ticket machine isn't working

Great place to walk and enjoy beautiful views of the coastline overlooking Beeston Hill. Lots of benches and well signposted walks. Great for the dogs....or not if you haven't got any. Children and people with mobility problems may find it difficult in placrs

Local Parks & Gardens

Sheringham Park

Visitor Centre, Wood Farm, Upper Sheringham NR26 8TL, UK – 01263 820550

Loads of parking, helpful volunteers, lots of paths to choose from and varied sights to see (clifftop coastal walk, trails through woods, etc). There are buggy friendly routes and it's popular with dog walkers! Has a courtyard with shop and a tearoom so plenty of seating and options for food, drinks and snacks. Enjoyable to visit!

The day was rather chilly and murky around the coast do we went to Sheringham Park, it was overcast there but just being that further away from the coast it was just nice for walking around with our dog, Beau. Some of the rhododendrons had past their best others were just coming out in bloom their scent and colour spectacular. I can certainly recommend going there for some peace and quiet also meeting others of a like mind. Parking is £5.00 for non NT members but there is plenty of things to see and do so not that expensive.

Felbrigg Hall, Gardens and Estate

Felbrigg, Norwich NR11 8PR, UK – 01263 837444

The house was beautiful and had a homely atmosphere. The guides were interesting, knowledgeable and friendly. Many paintings had family resemblances which could be seen thanks to the greater than normal level of light for a National trust property. The walled garden was magnificent and perfect for any plant lover. All the windows appeared to have fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. It was a great afternoon out.

Great day out for kids young and old. My 5yo enjoyed hunting for the close up photos around the different rooms. The guides were knowledgeable and engaging with my children. The courtyard cafe was relaxing after a wander around, except for the wasps that seemed to take an instant delight in tormenting my eldest. All in all a great day out.

Woodlands Caravan Park

Holt Rd, Sheringham NR26 8TU, UK – 01263 823802

Very nice caravan park, but has a couple of problems. We brought our tourer here and the site is spacious. There are some static caravans that circle the large centre pitch area. There is a large children's play area and digs are welcome, but must be keep on leads and under close control. Be aware, that the arrival time is noon, but the on site shop, only opens from 8.30 til 11am so don't expect to get essentials when you arrive. Shower blocks are modern and very clean consists of two sections each have make and female facilities plus a laundry and wash up area between. The main problem is they have an outside cleaning company that clean the place in the morning just at the time everyone wants to use the facilities. I would suggest that you use them first thing or wait until after cleaning is complete, for us we would rather use them first and then go out for the day. From the site you can access Sheingham Park woodland area. This is a vast area and great to walk the dogs. Part of it is controlled by the Nation Trust and staff help if you get lost too. All in all we had a great time. Would come back but would rather like the shop times longer and the cleaning done during the day when people are already shoeered.

The only thing that lets this site down is the layout of the pitches, which is a real shame as everything else on this site is A1. We were lucky that there was only 100 vans booked this weekend. I would hate to stay here when their at full capacity (180). Pitches are not level so bring your levelling aids. Toilets and showers are exceptional. The gym is a great bonus but a little pricey they could work out a better deal for families wanting to swim or gym while there here. But all in all a real nice site but your very packed in so do you best to get on with your neighbours!

Great website!. Click below to find gardens open during the year around Sheringham or Norfolk. There are photos and lots of detail about the garden.
